Photos from Odyssey: The Soles' Journey Home will be online soon.
PuppetLab is getting to be in full swing. Things are made and workshopping the show will begin in the middle of December! I should have photos of puppets and set pieces up on the site soon.
Also, Puppets 'n' People has been selected as a company to do a puppet show about Bugs at the Minnesota Zoo! This project will be developed in the spring and run as a show and experience throughout the summer at the zoo. Lots of exciting projects are happening!
I have been selected to be part of PuppetLab at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater. This means that I get to develop a puppet show that I proposed over six months while receiving feedback from the three other participant-teams. They include Margaret Burger ,Seth Eberle, Olli Johnson, and Rachel Jendrzejewski +Theo Goodell. Our first meeting was amazing. Everyone has such different ideas for a puppet show. I think that we will all help to push each other in a good way.
My show will deal with what home means. I am starting to build a tent soon and will keep you up to date!
All this month I am teaching for the annual Mayday Parade, Ceremony, and Festival at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater. If you are in Minneapolis, come to the whole event on May 5. Mostly, we are creating bird masks for part of the parade.
Also, this summer is bound to be promising with a puppet show called the Amazing Animal Adventure being performed at the Minnesota Zoo. Come see a fantastic puppet show in which I am performing Friday through Monday starting in June! If I am not performing, there will still be a show, and it is bound to be FANTASTIC! Finally, stay tuned as a toy shop is on its way to the website soon!
This is part of the Puppet Lab performance series at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater and is directed by Steve Ackerman. For more information on the show, you can visit http://www.hobt.org/. I will be in the chorus singing the theme song for "Tummy da Talking Turtle Sucks on Piano Keys." This show involves lots of cartoon violence, anvils, turtles, crocodiles, and canons!
I was a performer and collaborator for the recent production of Kid Enkidu, directed by Bart Buch, at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre. I was lucky to be able to both perform and create some of the puppets for the production. Here are some photos from the production!
